The 2013 Vancouver Island Motor Gathering raised $52,821 in support of Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island!
Hosted on the Queen Alexandra grounds at 2400 Arbutus Road, the Vancouver Island Motor Gathering, presented by the German Auto Import Network [GAIN], featured hundreds of spectacular cars and motorcycles of all makes and models, as well as entertainment, food, and fun for the entire family.
This family-oriented event took place on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 11am to 4pm and there were over 2,000 spectators in attendance. Lots of fun family activities including face painting, Tom Thumb pedal cars, radiooperated cars, craft stations, a bouncy castle and a hayride made it a wonderful family occasion.
The 200+ participants that showcased their vehicles showed up in style and there were 15 trophies awarded for everything from Most Original and Best Muscle Car to Best Classic Motorcycle and Best in Show.
Between the generous sponsors, participants, and spectators, the 2013 Vancouver Island Motor Gathering raised $52,821 this year to support Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island, which in turn helps children, and youth with special needs reach their potential. The money raised will help with the purchase of some much-needed new equipment. The German Auto Import Network is thrilled to be able to support so many local children and families in need.
A giant thank you goes out to our gold level sponsors; Audio Visual Advertising, Country Grocer, C&M Development Inc., Dr. G.S. Tatra Inc., Fantastic Cleaning Janitorial Services, HUB International and Silver Arrow as well as our silver level sponsors; AutoTrader, Craftsman Collision Ltd., Concept Photography, Ocean Promotion Inc. and The Sign Pad. We’d also like to mention a special thank you to Brent Cook from Trev Deely Museum and Rudi Koniczek from Rudi & Company for all their support and especially for helping to judge the awards along with Paul Pederson. We wouldn’t have been able to put on such a great event without the support of the people and businesses mentioned above, the bronze level sponsors and media sponsors, as well as all of the wonderful volunteers, so a huge thank you goes out to them as well.
“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the Motor Gathering’s spectators and sponsors, and of GAIN, the car show’s organizer, who raised over $52,000 to improve children’s health. This contribution will help purchase much-needed therapeutic equipment for kids with special needs on the Island. What an incredible gift to the children of our community.”
